What to Expect
-
A sound bath is an auditory experience that can have physiological effects. Participants lie or sit comfortably and are immersed in subtle vibrations from instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, drums, and the gong. There might be a guided meditation or a chance to reflect afterwards. Some healers combine body work, reiki, or other alternative healing modalities with their sessions. Each sound bath is unique and will reflect the energy of the moment and the skills of the individual sound healer.
-
Benefits vary from person to person. Some reported and studied benefits include:
improved mood
decreased tension
decreased anxiety
decreased physical pain
less fatigue
increased spiritual well-being
improved cognition and memory
better sleep quality and duration
-
Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
-
There is no skill needed to get the benefits of sound therapy. Sound works with the body even more efficiently than light! If you can show up, even virtually, you can shift your energy.
-
If you’re in the first trimester of pregnancy, have ever been diagnosed with sound-induced epilepsy, have certain implanted devices like a pace-maker, or are experiencing acute illness, consult your physician before participating in a sound bath. Depending on the condition, you might be advised to avoid certain on-the-body work or to avoid sound therapy all together.

A growing body of scientific evidence backs up what ancient people have known forever. Evidence points to mechanisms like:
reducing stress hormones
shifting brainwaves between different states like Beta, Alpha, Theda, and Delta
Stimulating cellular healing to reduce inflammation and pain
providing a drug-free way to address PTSD, emotional pain and trauma
